Managers who try to handle everything themselves become bottlenecks, leaving their teams stuck and themselves burned out. Delegation works best in levels, from simple task handoff to full ownership of an outcome or area, and the goal is to push everyone toward that top level regardless of seniority. The short-term cost of mistakes and slipping timelines pays off as people grow. A team where everyone owns something is a team of leaders, not followers.
