Gen Z doesn’t have much in the way of savings, but it does love to spend on little treats. Zoomers burn cash on beauty products, snacks, and jewelry. Economists are calling it the ‘little treat economy,’ the result of joyful splurging on frivolous purchases to fill the void left by unaffordable big-ticket items, like homes. Gen Z’s average spending on little treats grew by more than 6% YoY in June, compared to 3% for all generations.
